Korbel Toasts Fabulous Friendships with Second Annual Contest

Share Your “Best Girlfriend Moment” & Win the Ultimate Girls Getaway to Korbel Winery!
Korbel California Champagne is synonymous with celebrations both large and small. From weddings, to birthdays, to anniversaries Korbel is a great addition to any celebratory occasion. This includes the everyday celebrations – like the simple things, such as great friendships. In honor of these everyday celebrations, Korbel is once again Celebrating Fabulous Friendships and encouraging women to submit their “Best Girlfriend Moment” for a chance to win the ultimate girl’s getaway to the Korbel Winery.
From March 1 – April 25, 2010, Korbel is Celebrating Fabulous Friendships and encouraging women nationwide to share their Best Girlfriend Moment by submitting their photos and stories via an online contest at www.korbelgirlsgetaway.com.
The “Best Girlfriend Moment” winner and five friends win a trip to the Korbel Winery for the ultimate girl’s wine country getaway complete with airfare and accommodations for four days of VIP treatment including a vineyard and winery tour, meals prepared by the winery’s private chef and poolside spa treatments.

“Korbel has been the trusted choice when toasting celebratory occasions for more than 128 years,” said Gary Heck, owner and president of Korbel Champagne Cellars. “Celebrations are most often shared among friends, so it’s only fitting that Korbel is once again toasting these friendships and encouraging women to share their special stories.”
Last year’s winner was Sherry Cowper from Indianapolis who submitted the story of her friend Cindy Taber’s struggle with breast cancer and the positive role model Cindy has been for their entire group of friends. The seven friends have supported each other through Cindy’s fight and wanted to honor her with a weekend of pampering and fun. Cindy and Sherry were joined by five of their friends on the ultimate girl’s wine country getaway.
Girlfriend getaways have increased significantly over the past few years as more women have sought to relax and rejuvenate among friends. Shopping trips, beach destinations, and spa weekends are all high on the list of girlfriend getaway locales, but wine country excursions still tend to top the list. And the Korbel Winery is the ultimate girlfriend getaway destination as it’s located in the heart of the beautiful Russian River Valley in California.

Established in 1882 in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley, Korbel Champagne Cellars produces the United States’ most popular méthode champenoise champagne. But the true measure of Korbel’s success during its 128 years can be seen in the impact it’s had on American consumers and its presence at various celebrations throughout the years. Owned and managed by the Heck family since 1954, Korbel currently makes seven champagnes and a limited amount of still wine. In a separate facility, Korbel also produces one of the country’s most respected brandies.
